Though I wouldn’t put it in those terms (telling people they don’t know shit tends to piss them off lol).
Here’s what I think.
Love isn’t the sunshine and roses people think it is.
It isn’t the feelings you have when you are first getting to know someone.
Love requires patience, communication (verbal and non verbal), tenacity, and fidelity.
I could go on with what it is and isn’t but, to out it simply, it’s a choice and many people choose the newest, shiniest thing rather than the comfortable, well worn item thats been around for years.
Love is showing up every day and choosing to love a person, not in spite of, but because of their quirks, faults, and foibles
Then again, that’s just what I’ve experienced. And since no one has shown me anything that would cause me to think differently.
What do you think about that post. Is he generalizing too much? Let me know!
